Public spookesperson Dermot Dennehy said: “Everyone knows that women love purchasing but it’s interesting to find out what items women get the most pleasure from buying” .

‘Seeing something you fancy within a magazine advert means you often have days or several weeks to think about it before you get paid and can afford it. Eighty one per cent of women agreed they were more careful with their money now than these were five years ago. As a result they may be more likely to feel a deep sense of satisfaction if they do buy something new.
The particular report found rather than ‘splashing the cash’ impulsively, majority of the women now spend time carefully contemplating their purchase before parting with their money.

Nearly a third accepted tearing out pictures of items and adverts they see in magazines to remind them of preferred items. And three within ten women said they have got hunted down an item of clothing after seeing it in an advert.
Dennehy mentioned: ‘We are bombarded along with over 254 adverts all day and often forget where we saw the advert plus where to buy the items marketing; the perfect gift item to get a friend, the latest product from our favourite beauty brand or even a great weekly supermarket offer and it’s frustrating to miss out or forget.
‘This does mean that men have no cop out when it comes to getting the perfect present as they can subtly save the items their partner wants and go back and look with them later.
